New details released in capture of Maine murderer who escaped from prison

DOVER-FOXCROFT, Maine — A sergeant with the Piscataquis County Sheriff's Department started his shift at 6 a.m. Tuesday. Less than an hour later, he captured convicted murder Arnold Nash.

Nash, 65, was captured Tuesday around 7 a.m. walking along Route 15 near the Garland/Dover-Foxcroft line.

He escaped from the Mountain View Correctional Facility in Charleston on Thursday evening, officials said.

Sgt. Michael Gould said he went to the correctional facility Tuesday morning to get an update on the manhunt.
