A Shawnee woman was arrested and charged after allegedly hiding contraband on prison property on New Year’s Eve.
Cheyenne Jackson, 19, was charged Dec. 31 with felony bringing contraband (drugs) into jail/penal institution, according to documents filed by District 18 First Assistant District Attorney Adam Scharn.
Pittsburg County Jail records show Jackson was being held Wednesday on a $7,500 bond.
In a probable cause affidavit prepared by Pittsburg County Sheriff Deputy Kody Hance, the deputy wrote he was driving north on West Street when he was waved down by a correctional officer near the intersection of West Street and Buford Drive.
