Kareem Savage is accused of fatally beating another inmate at the state prison.
A state prison inmate faces the possibility of another life sentence for murder at his trial this week in Erie County Court.
Kareem Savage, 30, will face trial on charges including homicide in the beating death of a fellow inmate at the State Correctional Institution at Albion. Jury selection in the case is scheduled to begin Monday before Erie County Judge John J. Mead.
Savage is accused of kicking and stomping the other inmate, 58-year-old Anthony R. Wilson, during a large altercation in the day room of SCI Albion’s “D/A Unit” on Sept. 1, 2016. Wilson died about three months after the assault.
