Officials study jail overcrowding |

Expanding the work-release and community re-entry programs is one idea that came out of a meeting Friday concerning overcrowding at the Saline County Jail, Saline County commissioners learned Tuesday. County Commissioner Dave Smith and County Administrator Rita Deister discussed both programs at the regular meeting of the Saline County Commission. “These guys (inmates) get turned out and they have no money, no clothes, no job.
