Friend Of Inmate Says Life After Riots Difficult |

A close friend of an inmate told WOWT 6 News life after riots at the Tecumseh Correctional Institution have been difficult for inmates. Nebraska Governor Pete Ricketts took a tour of the Tecumseh State Correctional Institution Tuesday morning nine days after riots broke out and sent the facility into lockdown. WOWT 6 News cameras also got a glimpse of the aftermath of the destructive riots. Holly Kempkes, who said her close friend is an inmate and has called her during the riots, said inmates not involved in the riots have suffered the consequences of lockdown. "Obviously they're criminals, they're in there for a reason, but they do have some basic rights as human beings, and being fed regular meals with nutrition is one of them," she said. Read More. |
