State DAs weigh in on Wolf's latest death penalty reprieve |

The state's district attorneys are reiterating their concern and disappointment over Gov. Tom Wolf s death penalty moratorium in light of his decision to grant death row inmate Hubert Michael a reprieve to his scheduled execution on Friday. In a statement issued by the Pennsylvania District Attorneys Association executive director Richard Long, the prosecutors call Wolf's action "no-less unconstitutional" than when he signed the executive order in February imposing the moratorium. The reprieve granted to Michael, who is convicted of raping and killing 16-year-old Trista Eng in York County in 1993, is the second one that Wolf has granted. Read More. |
