| Description: | Hennepin County Sheriff’s Office is accepting applications for full time benefit-earning Detention Deputies. Detention Deputies will process newly admitted inmates, maintain security and inmate accountability, and maintain order and enforce rules and regulations to pre-trail detainees at the Hennepin County Jail and at the Public Safety Facility, both located in downtown Minneapolis. These positions are not licensed peace officers and have no law enforcement responsibilities outside of the institution where they work. The Ideal Candidate will have: One or an equivalent combination of the following: · Two years experience in corrections, law enforcement or security · Two years of active military duty with an honorable discharge · Successful completion of two years of college or technical college coursework · Two years of supervisory experience in public safety, group home, treatment center or as a sentencing to serve crew leader. Other Requirements: · Successfully pass a series of exam components · Being able to work a flexible schedule; available for off duty call · Be at least 21 years of age; must not have been convicted of a felony; must supply background data as required · Pass a comprehensive medical examination |
