| Description: | Shelby County Government in Memphis, TN, is seeking qualified candidates with current correctional management experience for the position of Director – Division of Corrections for the Shelby County Correctional Center, a facility with an average daily inmate population of 2600.
This position directs and oversees the entire operation of the County corrections facility with a broad array of rehabilitative programs, including a community reentry initiative as well as an additional limited security facility for misdemeanor offenders. The position reports to the County Chief Administrative Officer and works at the discretion of the County Mayor. The position requires a minimum Bachelor’s degree in criminal justice or related field with 10 years of progressively responsible correctional supervisory and administrative experience. Proven skills in operating a modern jail/prison system and the ability to complete large-scale initiatives are required. This is an outstanding opportunity for an experienced professional to advance his or her correctional career. The selected candidate would start September 1, 2014.The salary for this position is $125,000 annually, with a full benefits package including health and life insurance plus retirement plan.
