For more information please visit www.mtctrains.com DETENTION OFFICER POSITION SUMMARY: This position reports to the designated sergeant. You are responsible for the custody and discipline of detainees assigned to the unit in compliance with Management & Training Corporation (MTC) and Otero County and the United States Marshals Service (USMS) directives. If assigned to the transportation department you will responsible for the transporting of detainees to and from the facility in accordance with established procedures. ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS: High school diploma or equivalent. You must be 18 years of age or older and have a valid driver’s license in the State of New Mexico or the State of Texas with an acceptable driving record unless it is waived by management. If you are assigned as a transportation officer, you must possess a valid CDL license by the State of New Mexico with an acceptable driving record. New Mexico Corrections Department Corrections Officer certification preferred. POST HIRING REQUIREMENTS: You must successfully complete annual in-service training requirements. |
