Description: | Oregon Youth Authority (OYA) is looking for candidates for the Group Life Coordinator 2 position for each facility throughout Oregon. If hired, you will become part of the Service Employees International Union (SEIU).
The Group Life Coordinator 2 ensures a safe and secure environment for the public, youth offenders, and staff. The Group Life Coordinator 2 provides pro-social role modeling by working directly with youth offenders carrying out the specific day to day functions of each unit. If you do not meet the minimum qualifications for the Group Life Coordinator 2, then based on your professional experience and skills you would eligible to be considered for a temporary Group Life Coordinator 1. After gaining the appropriate work experience, you would be eligible to re-apply for a Group Life Coordinator 2 position. The Group Life Coordinator (GLC) supports and maintains a dynamic environment that moves youth offenders through a treatment process promoting the acceptance of responsibility, healthy habits, productive life styles, and socially acceptable conduct. This position provides continuous direct visual supervision of youth. The position oversees daily activities and instructs youth on matters of appropriate behavior, personal hygiene, and proper dress. Group Life Coordinators provide daily supervision, control, and treatment of adjudicated youth and youth from Department of Corrections in a secure correctional facility. NATURE OF THE WORK
