Description: | The Department of Corrections is seeking highly motivated and qualified individuals for the position of Psychology Associate at the following facilities:
Locations: Coyote Ridge Corrections Center (CRCC) is a 2400 bed male Medium- Minimum level facility located just off U.S. Highway 395 in sunny southeastern Washington. Connell embodies the best of small town America. With a population of 5,405, this vibrant, progressive community offers a quality of life that is rare today. The Position: Provide diagnostic and treatment services to incarcerated adult male offenders, Monday through Friday, 7:30 a.m. - 4:00 p.m., within the Department of Corrections. Treatment format consist of 1:1's, group therapies, crisis assessment, and crisis intervention and management. The Psychology Associate completes diagnostic assessments, mental health screening, clinical examinations, gathers data, and summarizes information. Formulation of appropriate diagnoses, using the most current Diagnostic & Statistical Manual, is Expected to, develop therapeutic treatment plans; performs review and summary of information from the inmates' central file. Documentation of all assessments and treatment including specialized psychological reports in a timely manner; provides appropriate psychological intervention; initiates appropriate referrals and consults other health care staff. The Psych Associate serves as a member of a multi-disciplinary team. Ideal Qualifications Master's degree in Psychology from an accredited school or department of Psychology who's accreditation is recognized by the U.S. Department of Education or the Council for Higher Education Accreditation (CHEA), or foreign equivalent, AND one year supervised clinical work experience providing direct psychological services in a Mental Health Institution/Hospital. OR Doctoral or Master's level degree in Marriage and Family Therapy, Behavioral Sciences, Mental Health Counseling, or Social Work from an accredited graduate school who's accreditation is recognized by the U.S. Department of Education or the Council for Higher Education Accreditation (CHEA), or foreign equivalent, AND two years' supervised work experience providing direct psychological services in a mental health facility. PLUS: You must obtain status as an Agency Affiliated Counselor through the Washington Department of Health or possess a Mental Health Counselor, Marriage and Family Therapist, or Social Worker license from the State of Washington. |
