Nebraska names new Warden |

The Nebraska Department of Correctional appointed Barbara Lewien as Warden of its work ethic camp in McCook. In 1995, Lewien began her career with the Wyoming Department of Corrections, and then became a teacher in 1996 at the NEDOC Hastings Correctional Center. At Hastings, she worked as a case manager, and in 2000 was promoted to Captain. In 2005, she transferred to the McCook work ethic camp. She became an administrative assistant for the central office’s programs and community services division in 2006. Lewien received a bachelor’s degree in Secondary Education, with a social studies endorsement, at the University of Wyoming. |
