FLORIDA - Dorotheria George's home in Palmetto needed some work, especially since her daughter was coming to live with her. George's daughter, Hanette Ingram, is an Iraq War veteran and former Manatee County corrections officer who suffers from multiple sclerosis and uses a wheelchair for mobility. Ingram has been living in a rehabilitation facility, and needed some alterations to her mother's home before she could live there with a reasonable level of comfort. Manatee County Commissioner Gwen Brown got wind of the family's troubles and decided to ask the Manatee Homebuilder's Association for help. And did they ever respond. Read more.
