New superintendent at N.C. Caldwell |

Chad V. Towery is Caldwell Correctional Center’s new superintendent. He succeeds the retired Billy Boughman. Towery oversees 182 adult male inmates and manages 58 officers and administrative personnel. He began his career as a Foothills Correctional Institution CO in 1994, and was named Caldwell’s assistant superintendent in 2003. Towery is a member of the minimum security facility’s emergency response team, as well as an instructor of firearms, baton use, cell extraction, pepper spray, and self-defense. In 1993, he earned a bachelor’s degree in economics and business administration from UNC-Charlotte, and an applied associates degree from Gaston Community College. |
