State employees' chief demoted |

By Andy Sher, asher@timesfreepress.com The Chattanooga Times Free Press Tues., March. 3, 2009 Chattanooga, Tenn. - NASHVILLE -- Tennessee State Employees Association President Zoyle Jones has been demoted from a top post at the state Department of Correction for allegedly double-billing the state and the employees' group on identical travel, records obtained by the Chattanooga Times Free Press show. The matter has been turned over to Davidson County District Attorney General Torry Johnson, according to a Feb. 17 letter from Correction Commissioner George Little to Mr. Jones. Meanwhile, the TSEA's six-member executive committee is expected to meet this morning "to review the facts and take appropriate action," said Jim Tucker, the employee group's executive director.
