| Child Care Provider, Pastor Guilty of Molestation |

A former pastor and Ferndale resident who helped his wife run a day care out of their home has been convicted of child molestation. Patrick M. Conway, 77, was sentenced Monday, Sept. 20, to a little more than a year and a half in a state prison for second-degree child molestation, according to court records. Conway pleaded guilty to that charge in Whatcom County Superior Court in July. Judge Charles Snyder adopted a sentence recommended by Conway's attorney and the prosecutor. Conway sexually touched two sisters several times while they were at the day care, which was in the 2000 block of Washington Street, according to charging documents filed in Superior Court.
