Dear Corrections Employee: My name is Caterina Spinaris Tudor, Ph.D., and as the Executive Director of Desert Waters Correctional Outreach (DWCO) I invite you to participate anonymously in a landmark study that researches health and wellness issues of corrections staff. The study is being conducted by the research branch of DWCO, the Institute of Corrections Research in Employee Wellness (ICREW). I am the study’s Principal Investigator, and the Co-Principal Investigators are Mike Denhof, Ph.D. and Julie Kellaway, Ph.D. Our research explores mental and physical health issues of corrections staff and their exposure to highly stressful workplace events. Its title is Impact of the Corrections Workplace on Correctional Workers’ Health. The purpose of the study is to increase the understanding of the impact of workplace events on corrections staff’s health. The only requirement for participation in the study is that you are currently employed in the field of corrections in a correctional role. The survey can be accessed at https://www.surveymonkey.com/s/correctionsworkersurvey2011, the password is: desertwaters. The survey is composed of seven sections. Participation will take approximately 20 minutes. Please feel free to forward this email invitation to colleagues who are currently employed in corrections or to post this email on corrections-related sites/locations. As this study only applies to correctional workers, we ask that you DO NOT post this email or any links to the study in any non-corrections-related sites/locations. This will help ensure the validity of the data collection process. I thank you in advance for your assistance. Sincerely, Caterina Spinaris Tudor, Ph.D., LPC Executive Director Desert Waters Correctional Outreach www.desertwaters.com 719-784-4727 for the well-being of correctional staff and families Visit the Caterina Tudor page Other articles by Tudor: |
