| Wolves in Sheep’s Clothing |

You may be working next to one and not even know it. Bullies, in power positions are often the only discernible pre-indicator that might be present. Not to say everybody that has extra ambition to go somewhere in their career is a dangerous predator, but this might be the only easily identifiable trait in the psychopath co-worker. They climb the ladder of organizations, infiltrating the control of things with their agendas. In many cases they exhibit more enthusiasm than most, but this is just to get what they want. Once they achieve a goal where they are in a position to influence control of others that is when you get a better glimpse of what they are really about.
As leaders, not necessarily as management but the more preferred positions, the psychopath will do whatever it is that is felt necessary by him or her to rob the sense of control and confidence from co-workers, using them as stepping stones to better their perceived position of increased importance and power. These co-worker psychopaths are far more dangerous than any other kind of psychopath in the correctional environment. You must be able to count on a fellow officer with the very essence of your life. They may pretend to offer that kind of loyalty, but when push comes to shove, they will only concern themselves with their self serving attitude and sacrifice you to make themselves look better. This really is the exact opposite of a warrior. The psychopath that pretends to be a fellow warrior is the most dangerous of all bad guys in society. “An insincere and evil friend is more to be feared than a wild beast; a wild beast may wound your body, but an evil friend will wound your mind.” BUDDHA The bully is not unlike the wolf dressed in sheep’s clothing of the fairy tales. If a dangerous inmate was to get hold of an officers uniform and impersonate his or her protective role with evil intensions this would be one of the most dangerous scenarios. This is no different than the danger that exists when a psychopath co-worker in uniform goes to work. If you ever wonder why the negative stereotype of guards is the way it is, perhaps based on truths or near truths, we can thank the psychopaths that have infiltrated our correctional departments. They are the ones pretending to be warriors but are only representing evil instead. Editor's note: Corrections.com author, Kevin E.
