TIPPECANOE COUNTY, Ind. (WLFI) — A jail inmate, who already faces charges for allegedly slicing another inmate's throat, has been arrested again. James McKillop is being held in the Tippecanoe County Jail on a preliminary charge of prisoner with a dangerous device, with intent to use as a deadly weapon, according to online jail records.
Lt. Bob Goldsmith said McKillop was in possession of a "piece of metal." Goldsmith said the metal was found in Mckillop's cell Tuesday around 5 p.m. Goldsmith classified it as a piece of contraband, but was unable to provide any other details on our questions.
As we reported earlier in September, inmate Lawrence Bell told a corrections officer that McKillop sliced his throat using a metal splint. According to court documents, the cut was several inches in length. Bell also told the officer McKillop punched him in the eye.
