CADILLAC — A 31-year-old Cadillac man is facing a charge in 84th District Court after it was alleged he possessed an alcoholic beverage in the Wexford County Jail.
Gordon Dale Mosier was charged with one count of prisoner possessing contraband in jail, an alcoholic liquor, for his connection with an incident on or about Feb. 9 in Cadillac. A habitual offender fourth offense notice was added to the charge which since the primary offense carries a penalty of up to five years, Mosier could face up to life in prison.
The charge is merely an accusation and not evidence of guilt. Mosier is presumed innocent unless and until proven guilty in a court of law. The prosecution has the burden of proving guilt beyond a reasonable doubt.
