I was self-employed in the U.S. Governments’ International Criminal Investigation Training Assistance Program ( ICITAP ). I was contracted as a Corrections Advisor/Consultant. I concentrated on Civil Rights Violations , Corruption, and the daily operation of various prisons throughout Iraq. The goal of this mission is to sort out the problems, write and implement changes through classroom and on the job training. Eventually, the prison would be in accordance with the International Correction Standards, set forth by the United Nations. With 15 years as a former Correction Officer For New York State, I can bring you and your Employees/Clients a wealth of experience concerning Security Issues, ACA Accreditation,Officer Assesment. Alvaro EXPERIENCE April 2, 1990-June 14, 1990 Successfully completed the NYS Dept. of Correctional Services Offices Academy June 14, 1990-October 1990 – Employed at Sing Sing Correctional Facility as a Probational Correctional Officer- On the job training. Duties included care, custody, and control 250+ inmates that housed on the unit that I was in charge of. October 1990-Janurary 1995 –Employed at Shawangunk Correctional Facility For 24 months, I was in charged of 60 inmates. They were housed on a close supervision unit. These inmates were classified as organizers, gang leaders, and high profile based on the crimes committed. escape risks and any special military forces. The unit was disbanded in November 1994. During that time my duties were to transport inmates to hospitals, court appearance, and funerals. I was also assigned to a special housing unit consisting of 45 inmates both as disciplinary and protective custody. My duties consisted of: applying mechanical restraints on these inmates for recreation and shower. 23 hours they were locked in their cells. January 1995-August 2000-Employed at the Auburn Correctional Facility. Duties were mainly performed in the main housing units where the inmates were locked in their cells 23 hours of the day as a result of their criminal behavior in the correctional facility. Applied mechanical restraints to those inmates that participated in 1 hour recreation and shower. Also in charge of personal belongings/property belonging to these inmates. I would inventory all the property, and distribute only those allowed on the special housing unit the remainder would be stored. While employed I applied for and was accepted a position with C.E.R.T., CORRECTIONS EMERGENCY RESPONSE TEAM, specializing all aspects of tactical emergencies. On the ready to respond to any crisis situtatation within the New York States Correctional Facilities. Duties included: expanded training in fire arms, unarmed defensive tactics, defensive formations, chemical agents, and squad leadership. August 2000-to February 2005 Employed at 5 Points Correctional Facility. My duties are: Manning an armed post, with chemical agents and the ability to apply deadly physical force. Diligent observation of both the main recreation yard and the gymnasium. Primary concern is for the safety and wellbeing of the correctional officers in the area as well as to quell any disturbances/ problems among the inmates. Utilize video cameras as a surveillance tool. EDUCATION 1978 Graduate from Geneva High School, with a Local-Sequence in Shop/Industrial Arts 1990-Completed the NYS Corrections Officers Training Academy- – Un Armed Defensive Tactics Courses Fire Arm Certification, 16 college credit hours earned upon graduation.
