NaphCare announces new contract with Essex County, Massachusetts

Birmingham, AL, (May 27, 2008) - NaphCare, a Birmingham - based provider of correctional health care, was recently awarded a contract for the Essex County correctional facilities in Middleton, Massachusetts. These facilities include the Essex County House of Correction, Lawrence Correctional Alternative Center, and the Women in Transition Facility. NaphCare will provide comprehensive health care services to include medical, dental and mental health to an inmate population of 1,550. The new contract is for six years with four one-year renewal options.

James McLane, Chief Executive Officer commented, “Our goal for Essex County is to implement our electronic medical records system, TechCare, reduce off-site visits, reduce pharmaceutical costs, and collaborate with the Sheriff’s Office to provide the most progressive health care program for the county.”

NaphCare has two decades of experience managing a full range of health care programs for inmates. NaphCare currently serves over 40 clients in 19 states, employing approximately 700 dedicated health care professionals.
