Article: (CENTERVILLE, Utah) – Employees at the Management & Training Corporation (MTC) central office saw more than a year’s worth of hard, detailed work recognized last week by the American Correctional Association (ACA). The MTC central office received ACA accreditation during the international organization’s 139th Congress of Correction, in Nashville, Tennessee. The Utah-based company becomes the first-ever private corrections operator to earn this accreditation. “Everyone working in our field – state corrections departments, federal corrections agencies, private providers and others – understands the great significance of this recognition,” said MTC Senior Corrections Vice President, Odie Washington. “ACA accreditation indicates MTC is professionally-operated, detail-oriented and customer-driven. That’s a reputation we work hard each day to maintain. We are very proud of this accomplishment.” ACA is the oldest and largest international correctional association in the world, comprised of professionals from across the country. MTC is the third largest private provider of adult correctional beds in the country. The company operates 16 correctional facilities with a combined inmate capacity of more than 19,000. MTC manages state and federal correctional facilities in: Arizona, California, New Mexico, Ohio and Texas. The corrections division employs nearly half of MTC’s 9800 employees, worldwide. Management & Training Corporation is the fourth largest private employer in Utah. The corporation was recognized for earning perfect 100% scores for both mandatory and non-mandatory audit standards. After initial accreditation, facilities are audited every three years to maintain accreditation. MTC intends to maintain its high level of quality correctional management and to remain ACA accredited for years and decades to come.
