Article: Traverse City, MI – January, 2010 - Northpointe Institute for Public Management, an industry leader in evidence-based risk/needs assessment and case management software, is pleased to announce the immediate release of their new COMPAS Ad-Hoc Report Generator. The COMPAS Software Suite is a seamless, integrated, and web-based software solution for offender assessment, classification and case management. A key component of the COMPAS system is the comprehensive, easy to use ad-hoc report generator that gives line staff, managers and administrators easy access to all of the data fields in the system across all licensed software titles in the suite. Report outputs can be exported in PDF and various spread sheet formats including Excel, Word, XML and RTF for importing into statistical packages for more advanced analysis. In order to further customize solutions to each individual agency, Northpointe has developed the COMPAS Ad-hoc Report Generator which allows the user to create custom reports for their own respective agency. Reports are defined by selecting fields to run conditions on, sort by and display. The COMPAS Ad-hoc Report Generator allows the user to set the conditions to report on any aspect of data. Some of the available data categories are: person demographics, agency descriptions, risk and criminogenic needs scales, case plan items, program/services outcomes, and secondary assessment scores. The COMPAS Ad-hoc Report Generator allows the user to run statistical reports using sums and averages as well as roster reports. For a statistical report, information can be shown in either a bar or pie chart. “The need for statistical data is escalated by the pressure being placed on criminal justice agencies and service providers to more effectively manage their caseloads while reducing costs. Courts, legislators, county commissioners, planners and fiscal managers are increasingly requesting hard data to justify budgets, to demonstrate that funds spent were cost effective, to assess whether specific policy goals and outcomes were achieved and to demonstrate that certain standards were met. Such reporting and accountability for evaluative data are imposing tremendous pressure on correctional agencies to install appropriate monitoring and data gathering capabilities. The new COMPAS Ad-hoc Report Generator gives our user agencies the ability to produce reports in support of these critical demands,” said Dave Wells, President and CEO, Northpointe Institute for Public Management.
