BIRMINGHAM, AL -- NaphCare, Inc., a leading provider of proactive correctional healthcare and innovative, corrections-based technology solutions, announced the appointment of Dr. Sylvie Stacy as its new Corporate Medical Director of Utilization Management.

As Corporate Medical Director of Utilization Management, Dr. Stacy will be responsible for leadership and oversight of clinical aspects of healthcare operations, utilization management, and improving processes and systems for overall healthcare delivery.

Dr. Stacy will use her experience in preventive medicine, health IT, quality improvement, and patient safety to provide guidance for multiple departments at NaphCare. She will also be tasked to advance NaphCare’s electronic medical record project, telemedicine system, and other cutting-edge technologies.

“Dr. Stacy’s experience in health information technology, patient safety, and quality improvement will be an excellent addition to the medical leadership at NaphCare,” said Corporate Medical Director, Dr. Stephen Bonner. “We are thrilled to welcome Dr. Stacy to our team.”

Dr. Stacy earned her Medical Doctorate from the University of Massachusetts Medical School,Worcester, MA, and completed a residency in preventive medicine and public health at Johns Hopkins University in Baltimore, MD. With a Masters of Public Health from the John Hopkins Bloomberg School of Public Health, Dr. Stacy aims to improve the health of patient populations and individuals through evidence-based approaches and innovative technologies. Recently, she was inducted into the Delta Omega Honorary Society in Public Health and is a recipient of the John G. Rangos Creativity in Cancer Discovery medal from Johns Hopkins University. She is also a member of the American Public Health Association and the American College of Preventive Medicine.
