CW: You must work at a private prison in Ohio, because every state prison I’m aware of does a TB test the first day on the job, and then yearly after that. If your a state employee and haven’t been tested, you need to let your Cpt. or Medical know immediately. |

We are tested annually where I work in Florida. Also can be tested if an exposure is suspected. |

Jail Standards (the governing body/organization for county jails) says we have to test for TB on inmates within 7 days of intake. If we have medical information from a transferring facility showing where they have already been tested, or we have had them in our facility (too often the case!) we do not re-test them until a year has passed. As a CO/DO we are tested on or before our anniversary date every year. (Once I pissed off the nurse BAD just before my due date. I had to make amends quickly!! lol) |

Here in NYSDOCS inmates are tested on arrival and quarantined until the results are read.CO’s are tested when hired and once a year thereafter. If you work in a hospital or infirmary area you are tested every 3 or 6 months as you are at an increased risk. If an outbreak occurs everyone in the area is retested as a precaution. |

In our AZ jail the officers are tested yearly and inmates after a couple of weeks unless the med screen during the booking process indicates a possible problem. |

Arkansas state facilities test all inmates and staff initially and yearly. I also work part time at a Texas county facility and we were tested initially and yearly there. Inmates were only tested if they were to be with us long term. |

At our facility in south dakota we do not test inmates upon arrival at this time into the booking area. We do test the inmates after 14 days of being with us. The officers are able to be tested as they wish, many of us encourage them to do the screening every year. |
