Topic: Security Central / Maximum security for former COs

Recidivists do time but not always at the same facility. A former corrections or leo will have little chance of never being housed with an inmate they once supervised. No facility wants a brutal attack based on an inmates previous employment. For this reason I feel ad seg is the best option.

Irish I agree with you. We have to rely upon each other to respond quickly. Often our safety is in the hands of the officers running to our aid. I lost 75 lbs (at ideal weight) so I could be in shape for hiring. Spent my time after testing waiting and reading every textbook on corrections I can get my hands on. As far as the tests, I took them back in the day (when they still had physical tests). And I decided that I would have been happier if I had accepted the job then so I went back (years later) and re tested. The tests did not seem all that different. My advice to new applicants is be patient. Look below at my timeline of the application process. Do something in the mean time because it could take a while. Wish I had known that upfront. And please remember that (no matter how well trained you think you are) things happen and your physical condition could mean the difference between life and death for yourself or your brothers…..Still waiting for my call but at least I am finally on the list. Shakey, you need to understand that Ben and Jerrys Peanut Butter is the only ice cream even worthy of real men. I mean, seriously, its peanut butter and chocolate…come on.

And Battlefield 4 is set for release this Fall. Hopefully I am too busy working to play.

No change here. Still waiting on my background. I heard through the vine that a new Ohio Law on background checks for employment has created a backlog on background checks. Maybe I’m caught up in that back log. DRC says we are still waiting. Thank you for your well wishes. Will keep you posted.

Waiting on background.
Still waiting on my background…..Pretty sure I am one of the few still waiting. Guess they found out that I hit a raccoon in my truck the other day. On a positive note, I quit smoking and lost all my weight while waiting. So that will make the academy easier. Pray for me. I need this job.

Applied for Ohio Corrections in mid August 2012. Placed DCI and Lebanon on my application. Late August 2012 I received an email stating that I am to wait for an assessment email. My understanding is assessment, fbi check, then institution interview. Is this correct? Can anyone give me an idea of how long to get to the academy and what it is like? xxFingersCrossedXX
